Alina Bykova is a fourth-year journalism student at Ryerson University, where she is also pursuing a double minor in politics and global development.
She was born in Odessa, Ukraine and immigrated to Canada when she was five, which has inspired much of her writing, academic work and research. She is interested in global affairs, human rights and Russo-Ukrainian relations.
Alina is a radio room reporter at the Toronto Star and is also the web coordinator of the Canadian Lawyers for International Human Rights (CLAIHR) blog.
Her work has appeared in various publications such as Torontoist, Folio Magazine, McClung’s Magazine, TEDxRyersonU, CanCulture Magazine and the Ryersonian.
